The choice of supplier does not only affect the final price of the product, but also quality, delivery times, minimum order quantities, flexibility and communication throughout the entire development and production process.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"4\">A specialised network of manufacturers<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">Europe has a strong network of manufacturers specialised in different product categories. Countries such as Portugal, Spain, Italy, Turkey and some areas of Eastern Europe offer very interesting solutions for brands looking for proximity, quality, technical expertise or more controlled production processes. However, finding the right partner requires time, industry knowledge and a clear understanding of the brand\u2019s real needs.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"6\">Defining the product before looking for a supplier<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7\">Before contacting factories, it is essential to define the product clearly. Looking for a manufacturer for knitwear, denim, leather, jewellery, accessories, outerwear or woven garments is not the same thing. Each category requires different technical capabilities, specific machinery, suitable material suppliers and previous experience with that type of product.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">It is also important to clarify other key aspects: the expected quality level, brand positioning, approximate quantities, target price and whether support is needed for prototype development or only for production. Many factories are highly specialised, and not all of them are suitable for every project. Searching for a supplier without a clear product definition often leads to wasted time, vague responses and contacts that do not become a real solution.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"9\">Choosing the country according to the product<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10\">The choice of production country also depends heavily on the type of product and the brand\u2019s objectives. Portugal is a well-established option for knitwear, jersey, sweatshirts, cotton garments, swimwear and some woven products, offering good quality and capacity for medium quantities. Spain can be interesting for closer production, specialised workshops, leather, accessories or smaller production runs. Italy remains a reference point for premium products, leather, tailoring, high-quality knitwear, footwear, bags and jewellery. Turkey offers strong industrial capacity in denim, knitwear, outerwear and productions with a good balance between quality, price and volume. In Eastern Europe, countries such as Romania, Bulgaria or Poland can be a good option for garment manufacturing, woven products and certain structured pieces.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"11\">MOQ as a starting point<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12\">One of the factors that most affects the search is the MOQ, or Minimum Order Quantity. For many brands, especially emerging or medium-sized ones, this can be one of the main obstacles. In general terms, some small workshops may work from 50 to 150 units per style, while medium-sized factories often operate in ranges of 200 to 400 units, and larger factories may require 500 units or more. These quantities vary greatly depending on the product, fabric, garment complexity and the internal organisation of the manufacturer.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"13\">The right factory for each stage<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14\">For this reason, it is not always about finding \u201cthe best factory\u201d, but rather the right factory for the brand\u2019s current stage. A company with large industrial capacity may not be the most suitable option for a small collection, while a flexible workshop may be ideal for a first production but not enough if the project needs to scale quickly.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"15\">Sample and prototype development<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"16\">Sample development is another essential aspect. Before reaching production, there are usually several stages: prototype, salesman sample, size set, pre-production sample and, finally, production. Working with manufacturers that have development capabilities, and not only manufacturing capacity, can make a significant difference, especially when the brand is creating a collection from scratch or needs to adjust patterns, materials, finishes and costs.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"17\">Proximity, communication and follow-up<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"18\">Producing in Europe offers clear advantages: greater proximity, similar time zones, the possibility of visiting factories, shorter transport times and, in many cases, more flexibility for medium or small quantities. This proximity can make communication and follow-up much easier, but it does not remove the need to carefully manage every stage of the process. Timelines, sample approvals, quality, materials and delivery dates must all be controlled rigorously in order to avoid delays or additional costs.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"19\">A strategic decision<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"20\">Ultimately, searching for manufacturers in Europe is not only about finding an available factory, but about identifying the right partner for the product, the quantities, the positioning and the stage the brand is currently in. A good choice can help improve the product, optimise costs, avoid production mistakes and build a stable long-term relationship.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"21\">Selecting the right manufacturer is therefore one of the most strategic phases of the development and production process.
